News of the Day 3-30-2011

Medea points to the knee soon to be operated on

Today we...
- built with castle blocks
- worked on a neighborhood book
- learned another new song!
- welcomed Zora for a Blue Bungalow visit!
- played hospital complete with: doctor, doctor's assistant, nurse, patient, hospital dog, and hospital cat
- went for a hike and set up a campsite
- had a puppet show - ***The talk about next year's changes has begun, so today I held a puppet show about changes. It starred 2 friends, a dragon and knight, discussing the fact that the dragon was moving to a new castle and the feelings that arose. The puppets asked the children if they were going to have any changes and the children were vociferous in describing how some were going to new schools next year. The puppets asked how they were feeling and the again the children were very open talking about them. The feelings ran the gamut: Excited, scared, sad, very sad... These came from both children moving to different schools and those staying. It was illuminating and therapeutic. It's good to remember and be empathetic to the fact that the next few months can be emotionally confusion for children as they approach a major transition time in their young lives.
Outside we...
- played dragons, robots, and plumbers!

I promise to give some Moongobble prompting questions tomorrow for the weekend!

Could you do some puppet shows for the parents as well? This one could probably use them more than my kid!

I heard you had a bit of a reaction! You will do fine, and I'll always be here for chats and puppet shows!
